I always struggle with this question as the answer changes from day to day. Often it’s the last book I read.
Sat looking at my book shelf I can see Maggie O’Farrell’s Hamnet, which I adore, so today I shall say that’s my favourite. Though that said I am listening to Agatha Christie’s The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding and that is daft fun. Oh, and there’s Nigel Slater’s The Christmas Chronicle’s which I love this time of year. Ooh, Ooh and the last Joanne Harris, Broken Light was stunning- I properly fan-girled her on the ‘bad place.’ Then there was that amazing book by Clair North, The End of the Day and then Hazards of Time Travel by Carol Joyce Oates which left me with that stunned feeling when you finish a book and don’t know what to do with yourself.
See, I told you I struggle with this question, but I’m asking it anyway – what’s your favourite book(s)?
Let me know your favourite in the comments xxx
Despite the fact that I too tend to get properly obsessed with each new book I read (The Firekeeper’s Daughter is currently living rent-free in my head some 11 months after I read it) I think my favourites remain forever a tie between Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and Pride and Prejudice. I used to re-read all of these every year but now that I’ve got the kiddos I’m stuck in the “so many books, so little time” loop!

Watching the BBC long version with Colin Firth is a yearly tradition now! I even got my husband into it 🙂
