OK, I know I did a post about Christmas movies last year, but bear with.
Christmas is all about traditions. Christmas is all about those little family rituals that make the holidays special. There’s the advent calendars, and the cakes and the mince pies and Christmas is absolutely about movies.
If you missed my post from last year you can check it out here.
Happy Holidays – Bordering Grey
But this year, as part of my 30 days of giving I thought I’d present to you an advent calendar of movies.
I’ll do all the work of deciding, so you could just grab the popcorn and settle back for an afternoon of Christmas cheer.
You’re welcome.
I decided to enlist the assistance of my daughter and daughter-in law in my quest for the perfect movie list. A little Jordan women bonding, I thought. A little togetherness when we live do far away.
The daughter- in law is a demon with a spreadsheet, and she is basically singing Christmas songs from the 1st of September, so I knew she’d be in. The daughter was a little tricker to judge. Don’t get me wrong, the Christmas spirit is strong, but catch her too early and she starts spitting about Halloween and how Selections boxes have shrunk and that year I forgot to buy her any presents.
Honestly, I was going to write a whole blog post but the screen shots of our chat are comedy gold so I will just leave it all here.

There then followed several pages of heated discussion about my perfectly reasonable suggestion that we add Wizard of Oz to the list

That 1968 classic Chatty Chatty Bang Bang – not to be confused with the one about the car.

You can see what I have to put up with!

What is wrong with the Wizard of Oz?

This is a microcosim of family harmony and compromise – we could teach world leaders a thing or two.

and thats it.
That’s how we saved Christmas and made everything right in the world. And here is the final 2023 Christmas Movie Countdown.

With a special thank you to the beautiful women in my life – and their employers for genrously allowing them to chat online when they should have been working.
I hope that you will join the Jordan women, sitting down each day, popcorn a-poppin, breaking open Christmas biscuits, with a pretty amazing Christmas movie list.
Yes! Yes I know you have work and the kids need feeding but Bah! Humbug! to all that.
And feel free to add in Wizard of Oz – you know you want to.
I’m in ! Thankyou beautiful women for a wonderful list with no Die Hard and a few I’ve never heard of so i may need links !
