Bore da, my lovelies.

Did I mention I was writing a book? Funny, it must have slipped my mind…

Well, the day is finally here, and I can reveal the cover and title of my new book.

I am so excited to share it with you guys first.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your ongoing support. I am a writer because you are a reader, and it means everything to share a moment together.

I hope you are going to love the book as much as I do. Does that sound a bit vain, saying I love a book all about me? Well, what can I say? I am utterly fabulous!

I am proudly a bit chopsy, a bit outspoken, apparently. Who knew? I’m just a woman with an opinion. And we know how dangerous that can be.

So here it is. Resistance tales from my life.

A sharply funny, furious and rousing account of a life lived in triumphant opposition to the limitations and systemic inequalities of a working-class woman’s life.

Underestimated and overlooked at each stage and age, Maya Jordan’s ambition and resilience was born in the library and nourished by reading and the Open University – through early motherhood, precarious housing, caring responsibilities and chronic disability – to a point where she finally seizes her right to write.

I can’t wait for you to read it.

( Ok, I actually feel quite sick, but I’m sure that will pass. I’m going to pretend it’s just you and me, taking five minutes over a cuppa, trying to make you laugh and cry and maybe snort tea out yer nose.)

Michael Sheen says

‘A curse on being ordinary! Wrong is not her name. Her name is Maya Jordan. She is a noisy woman, and we should fear her.’

If you like my work, would you share this email with a friend/on your socials? (Or if you hate it, send it to your enemies as revenge for whatever they did.) It can be hard for new writers to reach an audience, and I couldn’t get my words into the world without your support. xxx
